Hello All,
My wife and I have recently joined the Rich Club and are very serious about beginning investing. Any advice for newbies would be greatly appreciated. Not looking for the get rich quick gimmicks, not interested in helping anyone supplement their income by charging thousands for the so-called mentor programs. I'm a Realtor that works mostly as a buyers agent and have a fairly large number of contacts of individuals looking to lease homes. (that's why I'm here) I'm looking for creative ways to acquire some properties and lease them out. If you have any information and you're truly interested in helping others learn from your experience all advice is welcomed. Has anyone actually setup a land contract, if so, I would like to ask a few questions. I can be reached at 832-526-3389. I've done quite a bit of research, however, I can't say that I'm actually confident enough to go out, but knowledge without action is useless.
This is a GREAT post. First, congratulations on joining the RICH Club. I can tell how serious you guys really are about getting started and making the right decisions.
I have some feedback regarding mentors for you (and I'm not one) that would basically be...
A.) Have you ever gone to the gym and seen folks working out who have no idea what they are doing. You know, they use the equipment in a way that is completely ineffective? For example, instead of jumping with a rope.. these people actualy try to bench press the rope.
B.) Other folks hire personal trainers (mentors) right off the bat or when they don't get the results they want or need. These folks think the money investment will keep them committed to working out and/or get them a head start over the folks bench pressing with the jump rope.
C.) Then there's the people who read a bunch of books and go to seminars on fitness and starting working out without anyone. Some of these people make it and they make it big, but statistically most of them fail.
D.) Finally, there are the people who buy the gym membership and buy the books and never step into the gym.
The funny thing is, if you are A, B, C, or D, then you might make it and you might not. Some folks want every advantage they can get to be successful. For some this includes having a mentor/coach...(get ready) even if it costs them money! Tiger Woods, Michael Jordon, Andy Rodick, Donald Trump, Robert Kyosaki, (insert religous leader name here), George Bush, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or anyone else you identifiy with as having or being what you want.... they have coaches/mentors. Oh yeah, and they pay these coach too. In fact, if you think about it.. we are told from early on that you should replicate what success people do and have if you want to have their success. The paradox (that really isn't a paradox) is that nearly every "successful" person you know has a mentor or coach.
That's my 2 cents and i hope you appreciate my opinion.
You should bring up your question about land contracts at the RICH Breakfast Club on March 21st. See the calendar on this website for meeting time and location. Here you can ask a member to explain everything their is to know about the contracts and there may even be some attornyes in the room you can ask questions.
I hope to meet you and your wife at the Breakfast Club. I'll be there for sure!
